(EFFINGHAM) Citing public safety concerns, State Representatives Adam Niemerg of Dieterich and Brad Halbrook of Shelbyville are raising awareness about a company seeking to operate a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility within a single-family residential neighborhood in Effingham. The company, Oxford House, Incorporated, operates halfway homes for such rehabilitation and is plans to house 12 men with no oversight at the proposed site located within close proximity to Glenwood Park, causing great concerns to families with small children. The City of Effingham is holding a hearing on the matter tomorrow night at Effingham City Hall.
