(LINCOLN/PADUCAH) This is Severe Weather Preparedness Week as the National Weather Service and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency will highlight a specific area of safety each day, today through Friday. While receiving severe weather information is the focus on this Monday, tornado safety will be highlighted tomorrow, then lightning safety on Wednesday, hail & wind safety on Thursday, and flood safety on Friday. Plus the state’s Annual Tornado Drill will take place at 10:00 tomorrow morning as statewide residents should treat the drill as an actual tornado warning and test everyone’s readiness for life-threatening severe weather events, such as tornadoes, flash floods, and damaging winds.
