THREE LOCAL JUVENILES RECOVERED SAFE FROM FLOOD WATERS

(LOUISVILLE) With 3 inches of rain Monday in the Iuka area, along with 4 inches near Ingraham, three young people were rescued from flood waters early yesterday morning in rural Clay County. After being notified by one of the parents that the youngsters went tubing in the back waters, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the 11:00 hour Monday night, where a vehicle was found. Upon further assistance from Clay County ESDA & Rescue, plus volunteer firemen from the North Clay & Iuka Fire Protection Districts, a drone operator located the three individuals at approximately 12:34 Tuesday morning just a quarter mile from their vehicle. The youngsters were escorted out of the area, were checked by EMS personnel, and left with their families after declining treatment.
