(NEWTON) in High School Baseball yesterday –

Newton beat Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville, 11-2

as the Eagles outhit their visitors, 8 to 3

Gavin Meinhart was the winning pitcher, striking out 4 in his 4 innings on the mound

Dominic Baltzell led Newton at the plate with a double and single, an RBI and a run scored

Gavin Meinhart doubled and singled with a run scored

Reed Tharp had an RBI hit with a run scored

on the base paths, Quincy Fulton and David Ferguson each had 4 stolen bases

the (4-1) Eagles are scheduled to host Mt. Carmel in Newton tomorrow

Olney lost to visiting Marion, 5-16

the Tigers were led by Nolan Seals with 2 hits and 3 RBI

the (1-3) Tigers are scheduled to host Centralia Friday afternoon at 4:30

the game will be played on Dennis Conley Field at Olney Central College
