TUESDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (12/03/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) Our downstate area roller coaster weather will continue to bring us extreme conditions this week. After yesterday’s flurries, in some places a light dusting of snow, we’re back to dry conditions today with some sunshine and normal temperatures. However, that will change, a fast-moving weather trough could bring us some scattered freezing rain or sleet early tomorrow morning, by daybreak, then we dry out and warm up with a southwesterly wind flow and highs in the mid-to-upper 40’s on Wednesday. All to be followed by a cold front with very strong northwesterly winds and temperatures falling by at 30 degrees by tomorrow night with overnight lows in the teens and wind chill values well below zero. We’ll get back to some sunshine, but with colder air in place for Thursday and Friday with a slight warmup over the weekend and a chance of rain the first of next week. Monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather forecast details and information.
