USDA ILLINOIS CROP PROGRESS REPORT (06/18/2024)

(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report. There were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois on average last week. The statewide average temperature was 72.0 degrees last week, less than a degree (0.2) above normal. Illinois’ precipitation averaged 0.25 inches last week, 0.73 inches below normal. As of Sunday, corn planted was at 97%, compared to the 5-year average of 95% with the corn condition rated at 65% good to excellent. Soybeans planted hit 93%, compared to the 5-year average of 91% with the bean condition rated 61% good to excellent. The state’s winter wheat harvested reached 53%, compared to the 5-year average of 8% with the statewide wheat condition rated 77% good to excellent. Area farmers say the winter wheat harvest is going well with the dry weather conditions with most all fields being double-cropped to soybeans. Let’s stay safe out there.
