(INDIANAPOLIS) U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins addressed attendees of the 98th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis last week, wearing the same blue corduroy jacket she wore as Texas FFA State First Vice President in 1990. Reflecting on her faith and FFA roots, Rollins highlighted how FFA members are the future of the ag industry and acknowledged the possibility that a future secretary of agriculture could be in attendance. She went on, pointing to the most recent Census of Agriculture, showing more than one million producers identify as beginning farmers, an 11 percent increase from the prior census. She ended up encouraging FFA members to be excited for the future of agriculture.
