(NEWTON) The City of Newton Water Department will be replacing a fire hydrant on Scott Avenue this coming Monday morning, September 29th. With the water to be turned off at 8:30 that morning, water customers along the following streets will be affected :
Scott Avenue from the highway to East Reynolds
Third Avenue from East Decatur to East Reynolds
East Decatur Street from the railroad tracks to Scott Avenue
East Reynolds Street from the railroad tracks to Scott Avenue
and all of Park Street, Davis Street, Elizabeth Street, Hillcrest Drive, North Hillcrest Drive, and Hillcrest Court
With the work expected to take several hours, the water service will be turned back on as soon as possible, and once service is restored, all the area will be under a boil order until further notice. Again, that water hydrant replacement work is set for Monday morning.
