Newton won two games to wrap up last week
the Eagles won their home opener Friday over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 11-0
Newton outhit the visiting Bobcats, 12 to 2
Chance Mulvey was the winning pitcher, striking out 3 in 2 innings of work
Quincy Fulton led Newton at the plate with a home run, double, 2 stolen bases, and 2 RBI
Carson Barthelme had 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and a run scored
Dominic Baltzell doubled and singled with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored
Newton then beat LaSalle-Peru at Edwardsville on Saturday, 8-4
the Eagles outhit their opponents, 8 to 6
Chance Mulvey was again the winning pitcher, striking out 3 in 2 innings of work
Quincy Fulton hit another home run with a single, 3 stolen bases, an RBI, and 3 runs scored
Drake Wolf had 2 doubles, a walk, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored
Gavin Meinhart doubled and singled with an RBI
David Ferguson and Dominic Baltzell each had an RBI hit
the (2-1) Eagles will host Effingham today at 4:30 in Newton

Aiden Nealis had the Tiger’s only RBI hit
Brody Redman was good on the mound, throwing 5 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts
