“WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND”

(OLNEY) The Olney VFW will have its next Queen of Hearts drawing, all open to the public, at 4:00 this Sunday afternoon. The jackpot is now up to $6,156, if the winner is present, and remember, the drawing is live-streamed on the VFW Post page on Facebook. Tickets are on sale right up until draw time at 4:00 Sunday with the VFW doors open at 1:00. For tickets, stop by the VFW Post Home on North Walnut Street during regular hours or call 392-4226.

(OLNEY) The local Cub Scout Pack 211 is inviting area youngsters to join them for a Splash Pad Party this Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 in Olney’s Musgrove Park. While water & popsicles will be provided, come out and meet some of the Scouts and learn about the full list of opportunities that Cub Scouts has to offer local youngsters and their entire family.

(STE. MARIE) All are invited to this weekend’s 10th Annual Cork & Pork Festival to be held at Sainte Marie’s Picquet Park. Running from 4:30 Saturday afternoon thru the night, there will be plenty of wine, pork, live music, beer, and much more. Must be 21 or older to attend.

(OLNEY) A Memory Ride fundraiser is this Saturday, hosted by the Olney VFW, in honor of Rusty Tomblinson and Kevin Sager. It begins with registration at 9:00 that morning with the fee at $20 per rider and $10 per passenger with the kick stands up at 11:00 and at least five 30 minute stops. Then it’s back to the VFW Post Home for a free will donation pulled pork meal with sides, plus a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds to benefit the A.B.A.T.E. Down Riders Fund. The public’s invited to the meal, also for a donation at the VFW door.

(FLAT ROCK) The Sugar Creek Flea Market near Flat Rock, in Crawford County, will present the “Return of Turtleman” this Saturday from 8:00 to 4:00. With music provided by Charlie Ash at 2:00, the Family Friendly Event welcomes everyone with a $5.00 admission for adults, but free for kids under 10. Featured will be Kentucky native Ernie Brown, Jr., nicknamed “The Turtleman” with reality TV shows on the Animal Planet the elsewhere a few years ago.

(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton, with tickets on sale up until draw time, and a jackpot at $11,445. The Queen’s Menu includes a choice of a ribeye steak sandwich with a side for $12.00 or a pork cutlet sandwich with a side for $8.00, with serving to start at 5:00. Dine in or carry out.

(OLNEY) It’s another “Cruise In” this coming Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 in the Olney City Park, along with live entertainment by Noah Atwood, food from “The Smokin’ Pig” food truck, and a bake sale with the Olney Tiger Cheerleaders.
