(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report, there were 4.9 days suitable for fieldwork on average last week throughout Illinois. The state’s average temperature was 47.6 degrees last week, 6.3 degrees above normal and the statewide precipitation averaged 0.38 inches last week, 0.27 inches below normal. With nearly all of Illinois’ corn and soybean crops now harvested, all of the statewide winter wheat has been sown. As of Sunday, Illinois’ winter wheat crop was rated 5% poor to very poor, 20% fair, 72% good, and 3% excellent. Farmers are reminded to stay safe as work on the farm continues.
