(OLNEY) A fundraising Pork Loin Sale is continuing for the a few more days with all the proceeds to benefit the Mt. Gilead Church’s 2026 Guatemala Mission Trip coming up in July. With orders accepted now through Sunday, April 19th, folks can order a half pork loin for $30 with the pickup date set for the following Saturday, April 25th, at the Big R Store, beginning at 12 noon. The meat is being provided by The Smokin’ Pig with orders accepted on Facebook.
(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW Post is this coming Sunday afternoon at 4:00, with the $1.00 tickets on sale all this week and always open to the public. This week’s jackpot should be over $18,000 to the winner, who must be present to win. All ticket sales proceeds support the VFW Post Home, along with local Veterans and their families.
(OLNEY) The First Assembly of God in Olney has a special guest this Sunday with everyone of all ages encouraged to attend. It will be Evangelist and Comic Joe Phillips from Charlotte, North Carolina, delivering the morning message at 10:00 Sunday morning, followed by an evening comedy show at 6:00. The public is welcome to the family friendly events, all free of charge.
(OLNEY) All are invited this Sunday to the Olney VFW as the post home and its Auxiliary will host a fundraising “spaghetti dinner” with serving from 11:00 to 1:00 with all the proceeds to help the Post purchase new chairs for the hall. All are invited, simply pay at the door.
(OLNEY) It’s another Mt. Gilead Church fundraising “pork burger sale” this Saturday at the Big R Store in Olney, with serving from 10:00 to 12:30, featuring pork burgers ($4), chips ($1), and water or soda ($1). All proceeds go to the church’s Mission Trip to Guatemala in July.

(OLNEY) The Olney Firefighter’s Association will have its breakfast fundraiser this Saturday morning at the Olney Fire Station, at 501 North Walnut Street, with serving from 6:00 to 11:00, or until sold out. The menu includes biscuits, gravy, pancakes, and sausage with donations taken at the door, plus carryout and phone in orders at 618-392-6341 available. Proceeds will be used to assist the OFA with its support of the Fire Department with purchases of needed equipment.
(NEWTON) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Newton American Legion Post 20 is this coming Friday night at 6:30, with the jackpot now sitting at $99,150. The Queen’s Menu is an all-you-can-eat Taco Bar at $13 per person, with serving from 4:30 to 7:00, plus a margarita special. Either dine in or carry out. All at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton this Friday night.
