ACTIVITIES COMING UP THE REST OF THIS WEEK

(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW Post is this coming Sunday afternoon at 4:00, with the $1.00 tickets on sale all this week and always open to the public. The new jackpot will be $5,000. All proceeds support the VFW Post Home and local Veterans.

(NEWTON) The Newton American Legion will host an all-you-can-eat Mother’s Day Buffet this Sunday from 10:30 to 1:00 priced at $20 per person, $6 for children age 7 to 10, and free for children age 6 and younger. The Main Course includes five types of meat, four Classic Sides, an extensive Salad Bar, and freshly baked pies with a dessert bar. Also a Mother’s Day Basket prize drawing to one lucky Mom. Again, that’s this Sunday at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.

(STE. MARIE) The Ste. Marie American Legion invites everyone to its Mother’s Day Breakfast coming up this Sunday morning, with serving from 7:00 to 11:00, featuring a great menu for one and all. So gather up those Mothers & Grandmothers and bring them out this Sunday morning.

(OLNEY) The First Assembly of God in Olney will host a live stream ladies event this weekend, entitled “Women’s Encounter” and all area ladies age 16 and older are welcome to attend. The special event begins this Friday night from 5:00 to 7:00 and finishes up Saturday from 8:00 to 4:00. The cost is only $10 per lady, which covers meals and snacks. (OLNEY) It’s another “taco night” this weekend at the Olney VFW, sponsored by the Memorial VFW Auxiliary #4226, with serving from 5:30 to 7:30, or until sold out Friday night, including taco salad, tacos, nacho platters, and taco potatoes. Plus, a 50/50 drawing and a bake sale with proceeds to benefit the PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization. Call in orders accepted after 4:30 by calling 618-392-4226, however voicemail orders will NOT be filled. All invited.

(NEWTON) It’s Chicago Food Night this Friday night at the Newton American Legion Post 20 with serving to start at 5:00 and the Queen of Hearts drawing at 6:30, with the current jackpot at $106,000. The Queen’s menu includes Chicago Dogs, Italian Beef, and Gyros all served with fries or chips at various prices. That’s all this Friday night at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton.

(CLAY CITY) In recognition of tomorrow’s observance of The National Day of Prayer, the churches within the Clay City School District will host an evening service with prayer & music, starting at 7:00, at the Clay City Community Southern Baptist Church, just off of Route 50 in Clay City, just west of Casey’s Convenience Store. The service is open to the entire public during this year’s 75th Annual National Day of Prayer. Many other local and area churches and groups are also sponsoring and hosting various events for National Day of Prayer tomorrow.

THURSDAY (5/7/26) : It’s Game Night at the Library from 4:00 to 6:00 where those of all ages are welcome to the OPL to play the various board games available and have some good ole’ fun.
