The annual Berryville Chowder is set for Saturday, September 5th, the Saturday before Labor Day.
Serving begins around 11 a.m. at the Community Building, with chowder available by the bowl or by the gallon. If you’re buying a gallon to take home, bring your own container, but no glass containers, please.
There will also be sandwiches, drinks and desserts, along with doughnuts, baked goods and ice cream from the local Amish community.
The event also features their “world famous” Basket Raffle, with prizes geared toward a variety of ages and interests. Raffle tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. and end at 12:30, with the drawing starting at 1 p.m. You don’t have to be present to win, but winners must arrange pickup by 3 p.m.
And for the kids, there’s a free bounce house.
Organizers are inviting everyone to come out for good food, fellowship and a day of old-fashioned community fun.
