(OLNEY) The Olney VFW’s Queen of Hearts jackpot continues to grow, and the Queen is still up for grabs. Tickets are on sale all week for just $1 each ahead of the next drawing on Sunday. The jackpot is now estimated at $6,000. The event is open to the public, and everyone is invited to stop by, purchase tickets, and try their luck in this week’s drawing.
(OLNEY) The Claremont Community Center will host an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast tomorrow morning from 6:00 to 10:00, or until sold out, at the Claremont Community Building. The menu includes pancakes, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, assorted pastries, coffee, and milk, all by donation only. Proceeds will benefit the Claremont Community Center.
(OLNEY) The Richland County Fair Queen contestants have a few more fundraisers coming up, with proceeds to help the young ladies offset expenses for the Fair Queen Pageant. That’s tonight from 6:00 to 9:00 at Boujia June’s along South Route 130 in Olney. Then a week from tomorrow night, on Saturday morning, June 27th, from 10:00 to 12:00 at Gratitude and Grace, along Main Street, in downtown Olney. And then a “waitress-for-tips” fundraiser Thursday night, July 9th, from 4:00 until closing time, at Hovey’s Restaurant, along Main Street, downtown Olney. Community members are encouraged to attend and support this year’s Fair Queen contestants.
(OLNEY) The Sew Nifty Sisterhood Quilt Guild will host its bi-annual quilt show, “Oh My Stars!” tonight and tomorrow at North Clay Elementary School/Junior High, along South Route 45, in Louisville. The show will be open from 5:00 to 7:00 tonight and from 9:00 to 4:00 tomorrow, with more than 100 quilts on display, along with a scavenger hunt, various vendors, a handmade boutique, and a silent quilt auction benefiting local charities. Raffle tickets to win the Guild’s “Our Flag Stands for Freedom” quilt created to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday will be on sale at $1 each or six for $5 until draw time at 2:00 Saturday. Founded in 2018, the Sew Nifty Sisterhood Quilt Guild promotes quilting education & community service. Members have donated over 450 quilts to foster children & other charitable causes throughout the region.
(OLNEY) It’s another “If It Runs – You Are In” Cruise In tonight at Boujie June’s at 700 Southwest Street in Olney, from 6:00 to 9:00. The All Wrapped Up food truck will be there with food and drinks for purchase, plus a bake sale with the Richland County Fair Queen contestants. It’s the first of two Cruise In’s in June. Check it out this Friday night in Olney.
(NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20, will host its Queen’s Menu dinner on Friday, June 19, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The evening will also feature the Queen of Hearts drawing at 6:30 p.m., with a jackpot of $118,650. Dine in or carryout at the Newton American Legion Post, located at 108 E. Jourdan St. in Newton.
