AREA EVENTS THIS WEEKEND (05/31/2024)

(OLNEY) The Cummins Municipal Band will begin its 2024 season next Wednesday night at the Olney City Park Band Shell, starting at 7:30. All ages are invited to the Park and enjoy.

(OLNEY) The Elm Street Christian Church, at 727 East Elm Street in Olney, will have its Vacation Bible School next week for area youngsters, age 4 years old to 5th grade. That’s next Monday through Friday, June 3rd to June 7th, from 9:30 to 12 noon each morning.

(SAILOR SPRINGS) The Clay City/Sailor Springs American Legion Post 230 has another first Saturday of the month breakfast this weekend with serving from 7:00 to 10:00 with all-you-can-eat biscuits, gravy, sausage, and drinks for a donation at the door. That’s just off the Clay City/Dieterich Blacktop in Sailor Springs this coming Saturday morning. All invited.

(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton with tickets on sale up until draw time and a jackpot at $9,005. The Queen’s Menu includes your choice, either breaded shrimp or a bone-in pork chop sandwich, each with a side, priced at $10.00 each. Serving will start at 5:00. Either dine in or carry out at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton or call ahead at 618-783-2622.

(OLNEY) The Richland County Farmer’s Market is today from 10:00 to 2:00 under the pole barns in the Olney City Park. Expect farm fresh produce and more on sale for the public.
