(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a statewide Emergency Appeal for Blood still in place, the American Red Cross as asking all donors to get out and give blood at their next earliest opportunity. In upcoming area blood drives : today at the Community of Christ Church in Flora from 10:00 to 2:00 : today at the Blood Donation Center in Effingham from 11:30 to 7:30 : Wednesday at the Community of Christ Church in Fairfield from 11:30 to 5:30 : Thursday at the Olney VFW from 12:00 to 5:00 : Friday at the Cornerstone Church in Effingham from 1:30 to 5:30 : Saturday at the Blood Donation Center in Effingham from 7:00 to 3:00 : all blood types and platelets are needed to replenish low area blood supplies : for an appointment to donate blood, call the American Red Cross’ Blood Donation Center in Effingham, toll-free, at 800-733-2767 or go online to redcrossblood.org.
