CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ANNOUNCED AT CRMH

(OLNEY) Announced yesterday, the Carle Health system board has approved a $45 million building project at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital that will include a New Specialty Medical Office building and an expansion of the Emergency Department at Carle RMH in Olney. While the 46,000 square foot, two-story clinic will be built on the southwest side of the current Carle RMH campus and will attach to the hospital, the two-phased building project will also include moving the current hospital laboratory into the new clinic building, allowing the Emergency Department to expand for a new area for registration, triage, and private patient care rooms. With the groundbreaking for the Medical Office building set for late this summer and completion expected in late fall of 2027, work will then begin on the expansion of the CRMH Emergency Department with that completion date targeted for summer 2028. At a later date, teams will join to celebrate with a groundbreaking ceremony for the project as the health system will provide regular updates about the work through the Carle RMH Facebook page to inform the community about the progress. Carle Richland Memorial Hospital President Gina Thomas says the project will consolidate outpatient specialty clinics to better serve all local and regional residents.
