(OLNEY/NEWTON) A reminder that due to the recent hard freeze and subsequent thaw, some or most all area roads are posted with weight limits until further notice. The roads that we’re aware of are : all Preston Township roads in Richland County restricted to 10 tons, all Smallwood Township roads in Jasper County restricted to 10 tons, and all Richland County maintained highways at 10 tons, except for the Ste. Marie Road north of Route 50 and the Noble to Wakefield Road. All drivers should be alert to load limit signs that have been posted on area township or county roads. The restricted weight limits will remain in effect through mid-April. If questions, contact the respective township road commissioner or county highway department.
