(SPRINGFIELD) While commodity price trends suggest an increase in corn planting intentions, farmers around the nation mostly remain committed to their crop rotations, promoting agronomic stability over market fluctuations and policy changes. A recent Farm Futures survey indicates most family farmers with corn and soybean acreage are staying the course with their crop rotation this year rather than following grain market forecasts. Only 13% of respondents reported changing their acreage intentions due to commodity price trends over the past few months. Three-quarters of the surveyed farmers cited agronomic benefits as the primary reason for maintaining their crop rotation plans in Illinois.
