FRIDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (04/26/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a warm front slowly lifting northward across Illinois, we’ll gradually see some warmer air move into our downstate area today through Sunday, but that frontal system will collide with an approaching low pressure storm system from the west, therefore giving us multiple rounds of rain and possible thunderstorms. However, at this point in time, it appears most of the storms and heavier rain will stay to our north and northwest at least today. That will change though late tonight through tomorrow morning when the rain clears out and we’ll dry out for Sunday. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more forecast details and possible weather alerts.
