Girls High School Basketball Recap (Saturday)

Olney at Edwards County High School

Varsity:

• The Lady Tigers secured a 60-53 victory.
• Leah Gibson led the charge with 21 points.
• Aliyah Flittner contributed 18 points, while Jaylen Gwyn added 12 points.

Junior Varsity:

• Olney dominated the junior varsity game, winning 49-23.
• Marlee Brown led with 23 points, and Mallory Kocher chipped in 12 points.

The Lady Tigers will host Mattoon tonight at RCHS.

Other LIC Teams in Non-Conference Action (Saturday)

• Mt. Carmel defeated Centralia, 41-24.
• Marshall narrowly beat Arcola, 52-50.
• Paris lost to Peoria Notre Dame, 32-70.

Tonight, five LIC teams will be in non-conference action:

• Newton hosts Pana during “Senior Night” at NCHS (JV at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM).
• Robinson travels to Dieterich.
• Casey-Westfield heads to Charleston.
• Lawrenceville faces Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville.
• Olney hosts Mattoon.
