(BLOOMINGTON) Efforts made by Illinois Farm Bureau members and coalition partners were successful in stopping the State Senate’s vote on proposed wetland legislation, at least for now. It was Wednesday last week that the IFB issued an action request, urging members to voice their concerns about recent changes to the Wetland Protection Act with hundreds of Farm Bureau members responding. The proposed bill, Senate Bill 771 specifically targets all Illinois wetlands, regardless of size, plus it also introduces further uncertainty about the fees that could be imposed by the State DNR.
