(BLOOMINGTON) The Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) is no longer a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) as the nationwide organization has decided to terminate the Illinois Farm Bureau’s membership, effective December 20th. The state organization has filed a lawsuit against the American Farm Bureau Federation, claiming the termination violates a 1990 settlement agreement between the two organizations, which allegedly allowed the IFB to continue using the name “Illinois Farm Bureau.” Some believe the recent decision could have a significant impact on farmers and their families in Illinois.
