(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report, there were 2.7 days suitable for fieldwork on average last week around the state. Illinois’ average temperature was 46.1 degrees last week, 3.2 degrees below normal. The statewide precipitation averaged 0.23 inches last week, 0.72 inches below normal. As of Sunday, corn planted around the state was at 1%, compared to the 5-year average of 4%. Soybeans planted reached 2%, equal to the 5-year average. Winter wheat headed was at 1%, compared to the 5-year average of 3%. Winter wheat condition was rated 1% poor, 33% fair, 57% good, and 9% excellent.
