(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met last night in Olney for its regular monthly meeting in December. The Board : approved the November monthly bill listing worth $947,788 : approved the $408,550 Nevco Scoreboard Contract for the District’s new Athletic Facility : also approved contracts with Poettker Construction and FGMA for work on the Athletic Building, and agreed to seek needed bids for the Athletic Building : heard a positive audit report from the Kemper CPA Group, then approved the FY25 Audit : accepted the 2026 fuel bid from Wabash Valley Service Company for unleaded gasoline and diesel : approved a contract with StraightUp Solar for the Middle School and High School : approved a Memorandum of Agreement with the Richland County Education Association for the Sick Leave Bank : did not approve the shingle roof quote for the RiseUp Building : approved the District’s Risk Management Plan & the FY26 School Maintenance Grant : in personnel – approved the retirement from Janet Kuhlig as Bus Driver – approved the revised intent to retire from Rob Kirby as RCHS Spanish/Art Teacher at the end of this 2025-2026 school year – approved the intent to retire from Roy Waldhoff as RCHS JROTC Instructor, effective July 2029 – approved the revised resignation of Marcella Coats as part time Transportation Secretary & Bus Driver – approved the resignation of Lacie Lewis as RCES Paraprofessional – approved the transfer of Emili VanGundy from RCES Teacher to RCES Counselor, effective in the 2026-2027 school year – and approved various RCHS Athletic Volunteers for spring 2026 : while the next monthly meeting of the Richland County School Board is January 15th, 2026, the Board will have a special meeting January 5th, 2026, to discuss & possibly take action on the Alternative Revenue Bonds & Benardi Securities.
