The Richland County board met last night in regular session, and approved the agenda as presented.

In open discussion, the board listened to a presentation on community solar programs and they were asked to get a proposal together to discuss with finance, but no other action was taken.

They approved all county claims as presented, with $162,163.20 in county claims and $567,463.79 in non-county claims. They agreed to a service agreement with Hampton Lenzini & Renwicks for a Solar/Wind installation agreement, and passed a service agreement with Heyl Royster Law Firm to update the Solar/Wind Ordinances.

They then reviewed the Employee Insurance plan for 2027 with an increase and a passing vote. In the Sheriff’s report, they discussed and approved a short term agreement with the Lawrence County jail.

Animal Control was discussed with a vote on back-pay to AC Admin, which was passed, and a discussion on full and part time employees was taken to executive session.

In highway business they approved the adoption of Ordinance regulating development in floodplain areas, and in new business they came to a tax sale resolution under the treasurer’s suggestion, letting Joseph Meyers handle the new resolution from here on out.

After entering the executive session, they took no other action than to adjourn.
