SATURDAY RESULTS (5/30/26) (TRACK/TENNIS)

(CHARLESTON) in Boys High School Track from the weekend –

the finals of the Class 2A State Track Meet at EIU in Charleston were Saturday

Olney finished 12th out of 71 teams that scored at least one point as the Tigers had 22.5 points

Metamora won the 2A Title with 46 points, followed by Cahokia in 2nd place with 39 points

then Carbondale (36), Richton Park (32), and Danville & Morton tying for 5th place each at 30

Marion & Dixon tied for 8th (26), then North Chicago (25), and East St. Louis was 11th (24)

behind the Tigers were Rochester (22), Maple Park (21), Mt. Vernon (18), Civic Memorial (17)

Olney had eight athletes qualify for eight of the eighteen separate events

two Tigers each had two top-six finishes

Gavyn Cothern was 2nd in the long jump and tied for 4th in the high jump

Quaid Berger was 4th in the 3200 meter run and 6th in the 1600 meter run

congratulations to the Tigers that competed in the State Meet and the team on a great season

Newton finished competition with one point among the total 77 teams that scored

Morrison won the 1A State Meet with 51 points, followed by 2nd place Pleasant Plains at 34

El Paso-Gridley was 3rd at 29, while Tuscola & Dwight tied for 4th place, each at 28

Christ Our Rock Lutheran was 6th at 25, followed by Auburn (25) and Gillespie (22)

Shelbyville tied for 18th place (14), Flora tied for 29th (10), St. Anthony tied for 48th (6)

Robinson, Teutopolis, Cumberland, & Dieterich tied for 58th, all with 4 points each

Newton had eight athletes qualify for five of the eighteen events

the Eagles only point came from a 9th place finish in the 1600 meter relay

the team consisted of Matthew Haskett, Parker Harris, Hayden Borgic, & Henry Will

congratulations to the Eagles that competed in the State Meet and the team on a great season

(CHICAGO) in Boys High School Tennis from Friday –

at the Class 1A State Tournament at 16 suburban sites in Chicago

the lone Olney Tiger left after Thursday’s first day was in action

after Carter Seaman won 3 of his first 4 matches he had a tough loss and was eliminated

the RCHS junior finished the tournament with 3 wins and 2 losses and a job well down

fellow RCHS junior, A.J. Padilla, finished the tournament Thursday with 1 win and 2 losses

the double elimination tournament wrapped up with the finals in singles and doubles Saturday
