YET ANOTHER SCAM ALERT ISSUED

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Sheriff’s Association, along with most all area Sheriff’s Departments, are warning regional residents to beware of a bogus text message from the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Authorities say the texts are a scam, mostly claiming the residents have unpaid traffic tickets and therefore threatens to suspend the person’s driver’s license and/or vehicle registration unless it is paid immediately.
